Floating islands & Wetlands in Assiniboine Park Conservancy

In order to enhance the natural beauty and water quality of their pond, the Assiniboine Conservation Park mandated us to provide Biomatrix floating islands.

The goal of this project was also to conduct workshops with youth to teach them about the functioning and benefits of wetlands.

Although the island is small in relation to the pond, the functions of the ecosystem were increased, thus decreasing the risk of excessive algae growth.

The educational aspect of the floating islands is very much appreciated by nature lovers, and it is not negligible for this floating island.
