The OctoAir is an industrial grade diffuser made in Canada for aeration, oxygenation and de-icing. It is designed for industrial and municipal usage, as it is resistant to corrosion, deterioration due to pH, temperatures, water salinity, and a wide variety of chemicals. The Bubble Tubing® is bound in a spiral thanks to an integrated steel support.

It comes in two different formats, the OctoAir-10 and the OctoAir-60, both easily manoeuvrable and extremely efficient. Installation teams confirm that the OctoAir diffuser is easy to install, maintain and above all is well designed.

Diffuser OctoAir-10

The OctoAir-60 was designed and developed specifically for large scale aeration and industrial de-icing projects. With an air flow rate of up to 75 CFM, 300 feet of ¾” Bubble Tubing® contained in the structure of the OctoAir-60 allows for greater oxygen transfer performance. The diffuser is designed to allow for feeding air into the ¾” Bubble Tubing® from both ends. Applications that require a diffuser of industrial strength, corrosion resistance, easy manoeuvrability, and high efficiency will be well served with the OctoAir-60.

Compressed air is pushed through airline feeder hose to the OctoAir™ diffuser. Microbubbles are simultaneously released through the microscopic holes along the entire length of Bubble Tubing®. The constant release of fine bubbles allow for a high oxygen transfer rate in water while creating a significant ascending current that moves warmer and denser water upwards against the inner ice above. The OctoAir also modifies the water's density by introducing more air. This reduction in density, due to the regular output of bubbles, produces an optimal warm water circulation and thus helps melt the ice.

In situations in which the OctoAir is already in place, it presents a reliable and efficient prevention of ice accumulation, even in the coldest of temperatures.

There are no moving parts in the water, which is very efficient and cost effective.

Please check with the authorities to make sure that adding de-icers is authorized in your municipality. The thin ice and open area should be well marked out with a sign to warn people of danger in winter. This is to be done with every type of de-icer and defroster.

Cleaning your diffusers:

OctoAirs require Bio-Purge to clean the diffuser once per year, depending on water conditions. The diffuser remains in the water for the duration of the cleaning, as the Bio-Purge is poured into the airline hose from the compressor. Maintenance has never been easier!

Security

Check with local authorities to ensure that the addition of de-icers is permitted in your municipality. The de-icing area should be clearly marked with a sign to warn anyone of the danger. For use with all types of de-icing systems. Click here to purchase the thin ice sign.
